CUSD Holds Historic 2025 High School Graduations

On Thursday, June 5, Compton Unified School District proudly held commencement ceremonies for all four of its high schools — Compton High School, Dominguez High School, Compton Early College High School, and Centennial High School. Each event honored the achievements, growth, and perseverance of the Class of 2025. History was made at Compton High School, which hosted its 127th commencement ceremony on its brand-new campus for the very first time.
Compton High School Class of 2025 Makes History

The Compton High School Class of 2025 made history as the first to graduate at the new Compton High School campus. The ceremony, the school’s 127th, became even more memorable with a surprise visit from Vice President Kamala Harris, who attended as the personal guest of Student Board Member MyShay Causey.

This remarkable class of 283 students achieved outstanding accomplishments:

Class Highlights:
- 87% accepted to 2- and 4-year colleges
- 90% financial aid application completion rate
- Students admitted to institutions including Cornell, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton, Cerritos College, and more
- Nearly $500,000 in scholarships earned
- 11 students entering the U.S. Armed Forces (Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard)
- 12 students earned a 4.0 GPA or higher
- Valedictorian graduated with a 4.56 GPA

Dominguez High School Class of 2025
Dominguez High School celebrated its 69th annual commencement ceremony at the Compton High School football field, honoring the accomplishments of a highly driven and successful class.

Class Highlights:
- 445 graduates
- 96% accepted to college
- Admitted to top universities including USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, and nearly every CSU campus

- Several students will enter the U.S. Armed Forces
- Over $2 million in scholarships and grants awarded

Compton Early College High School Class of 2025

Compton Early College High School held its commencement ceremony at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, recognizing 121 graduates who have already proven what’s possible through early college access and high academic expectations.

Class Highlights:
- 100% of graduates accepted to 4-year colleges
- 81% earned Associate of Arts degrees before receiving their high school diplomas
- 49% of the class earned a 4.0 GPA or higher
- 30% earned between a 3.5 and 3.9 GPA
- Over $1 million in scholarships and grants awarded

Centennial High School Class of 2025

Centennial High School celebrated its 71st annual commencement ceremony at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, where 233 graduates were honored in a joyful, heartfelt celebration.

Class Highlights:
- 92% accepted to 2- and 4-year colleges
- Students admitted to UCLA, Marquette University, University of Kansas, Southern University, UC Berkeley, CSU Long Beach, and more
- Nearly $600,000 in scholarships earned
