As a resident for 37 years, former employee, and active community leader, Deidre has been an unwavering public servant in Compton for over a decade, leaving an indelible mark throughout the city. She is dedicated and committed to this community and the people’s business. In her role as appointed 1st District Councilmember, Deidre has achieved significant milestones in just two years:
- Street Maintenance – championing the repaving of 11 critical streets in the 1st District, enhancing the overall quality of our neighborhoods, and successfully trimming 1,000+ trees
- Code Enforcement – worked to bolster code enforcement, ensuring the safety and upkeep of our community.
- Housing Development – plays a pivotal role by introducing new housing opportunities for our residents.
- Business Growth – successfully attracted new businesses, fostering economic growth within our community.
- Fire Apparatus Fleet – approved funding to prioritize the safety of Compton residents.
- Artesia Bridge – secured funds to repair the infrastructure of a critical thoroughfare, fostering economic growth
- Reimplemented the 4th of July street closures
- Senior and Youth – successfully reinstated recreational activities and reopened the swimming pools.
